Today’s model is the first GWR member of the Locoyard fleet of locomotives to be featured in the model of the week series. Bachmann’s model is excellent and worth checking out (click here for it’s review). Without further ado, let’s look at this classic GWR locomtive.
Today’s model of the week is one of Locoyard’s collection of Ex-LBSCR A1X terrier’s – in fact it is actually 2 of the collection, as both a Kent and East Sussex Railway (K&ESR) and BR liveried versions are here for the time being. As with many locomotive’s of this vintage, the prototype has quite a…
In the search for a working Hornby type 7 motor, this J83 spent a brief foray on the locoyard layout before being dismantled, quite frankly in disgust! This model is very poor and it is quite surprising that Hornby sell it in this century. You’ll soon find out why I say this…

Today’s model of the week is a little earlier in the week in usual, in anticipation of the joint locoyard/UK Heritage Hub announcement of the most famous steam locomotive in issue 21 of UK Heritage Hub. Today we feature the second of three Southern liveried M7 tank engine’s to be found at Locoyard.
This week’s model of the week needs little introduction. It is no other than Thomas the Tank Engine from the Isle of Sodor. Thomas was my first ever model train and remains an important member of the locoyard fleet. He is also the star of Locoyard’s Movember competition that will be running later this year.
