Last Thursday, http://www.locoyard.com hit and passed a 100,000 views milestone! Thank you to all followers and contributors of this blog, who have all helped do this. To celebrate, a slideshow of photographs of real steam engines has been put together below. So sit back and enjoy the show!

JK Rowling’s Harry Potter series of books (and films) are hugely successful and popular. As with all good magical book’s; it features a steam engine (what could be more magical than a steam locomotive?!)

Throughout March 2013, we were accepting nominations for a shortlist of the “most famous steam locomotives” to put together a poll to find the winner. Today after 118 different nominations; the shortlist is revealed!
Nominations can no longer be submitted to go through to the vote for most famous steam locomotive. The poll will go live in the evening of Thursday 4th April. Many thanks for all your submissions!
