Tonight we go back in time to 2011 and have a good look at the North York Moors Railway’s fantastic Loco yard. Grosmont is certainly one of my favourite places in the country when it comes to steam locomotive depots.
Today we publish the final set of never-before published scans of newly discovered pictures from the archive. These pictures are mainly from 1997 on the Kent and East Sussex Railway. Enjoy!
Nick Littlewood has sent some more images of the Golden Arrow from two sources – The Book of Railways by Arthur Groom 1950 (above and below) and from The Railway Magazine Feb 1974 (bottom).

Nick Littlewood has been kind enough to send a scanned copy of a 1950’s postcard of the Golden Arrow, that had to be shared! What a fantastic illustration! They don’t make them like that any more!

Today marks the thirtieth anniversary of the re-opening of the Watercress Line’s Ropley to Medstead and Four Marks station. An excellent article of how this happened can be found on the railway’s website.
