Batty Moor, Horsley Bank, Bodmore Vale, Greyness Steelworks – Solent Model Railway Group International Exhibition of Model Railways 2013 Part 3

Tonight is part three of a series of blog posts (click here for part 1 and click here for part 2), showing some of the Model layouts that could be seen Solent Model Railway Group’s Exhibition held on the 23rd and 24 February 2013.

Batty Moor – 1:148 scale, N gauge – Twickenham & District Model Railway Club

2013 - Solent Model Railway Group - Eurotrack Model Exhibition - Batty MoorThis N gauge layout really makes good use of N gauge by being large and impressive;, with long trains creating a wild, isolated large moorland scene.  Based on a section of the Settle and Carlisle Railway (Blea Moor, north of Ribblehead viaduct) the layout has long prototypical trains and had an impressive Garrett in action (see above.)

2013 - Solent Model Railway Group - Eurotrack Model Exhibition - Horsley BankSteve Howe put a lot of effort into thinking out the layout to allow for shunting movements making it interesting to watch.
