As previously mentioned on this blog, in 1981, the Western Fuel Co.’s diesel shunter Western Pride was in need of an overhaul. This locomotive was used to shunt wagons on the dockside and into the WFC compound, as well as trip workings along the New Cut to Ashton…

This weekend I was able to visit (abeit briefly) the South Hants Model Railway’s club 2014 show. It was so late in the day that they ran out of show guides which does make writing blog posts about the layouts a bit trickier! But up first we have my favourite layout from the show: Brixcombe

Although we reported the news from this big railway exhibition (click here to read) we did not look at the layouts. Matt Wickham of the Bluebell Model Railway fame (check out his website here) has kindly allowed us to share his video of many of the layouts. There were some real beauties there, enjoy!
