Last weekend I attended another Spring Steam gala, lucky me! This time it was to the West Somerset Railway, for their gala themed around “Steam in South Wales”. It was an excellent event and I took lots of photos, but rather than look at it loco by loco I thought I’d just go through my day as some locos I saw lots of and some I saw disappointingly little of.
We began our day at Bishop’s Lydeard to catch the first train of the day, which we were rather pleased to discover turned out to be the double-headed Halls, Raveningham and Kinlet. As we meandered through West Somerset there was a great view of the locos rounding the curve, but I was so busy looking I forgot to take a photo! 🙂
Whilst the train was waiting at Williton we realised it wouldn’t be going anywhere until the freight train had passed through, so we nipped out onto the footbridge to catch it go by.
