Good evening,
As the blogs resident Merchant Navy reporter I thought I’d share some new photos of 35025 Brocklebank Line. 35025 has been in limbo since she was asked to leave the Great Central Railway in 2005. She then moved to Sellindge with fellow Merchant Navy 35011 General Steam Navigation with the grand plan at the time being to get 35011 and 35025 to be restored to main line running condition and to have excursions over the Folkestone Harbour branch and its stations which would be part of the Remembrance Line. Passengers would then transfer to a period steamer for a cross channel trip to Bolougne and back, then returning to London steam hauled throughout, at the end of the day. Sadly that plan never to pass and now 35025s future is in doubt and as you can see from the photos shes a bit unloved.
Hopefully one day someone or a society will come along and take on the challenge of restoring this monster back to steam.
Until then thanks for reading.
Thanks for the update. Rather sad.
