Seeing as a Christmas goods train was featured in this morning’s advent Calendar blog post (click here to view), I thought it fitting to publish some pictures of a goods train in action!
Following a previous blog post on the Isle of Wight Steam Railway’s O2 class W24 Calbourne, we have a brief look at other locomotives that can be found at Havenstreet. Firstly we have the unique E1 class that was reported on before (click here for more), however since then it has been re-named Yarmouth.

Yesterday at a Bachmann Collectors Club event at the Bluebell Railway, Bachmann announced their intention to produce a model of an ex-LBSCR Brighton Atlantic steam locomotive. This is a significant development in the Model Railway industry, showing an increased interest in pre-grouping types of steam locomotive.
The Watercress Line will be holding their Autumn Steam Gala from 25-27th October 2013 and it promises to be as good as any before! They have announced three large visitors to the event; A1 Class 60163 Tornado, BR Standard 7MT Class 70000 Britannia and rebuilt West Country Class 34046 Braunton. More details of these locomotives…
Today’s entry in the Steam Diary is a celebration of a lost miniature railway held this weekend at Eastleigh’s Lakeside Steam Railway.
Rounding off the series of blog posts looking at the Kent and East Sussex Railway is a look in the loco yard at Rolvenden. Of particular note was the line’s only tender engine – 376 Norwegian, which has recently returned to service.
