Today’s entry in the Steam Diary is a celebration of a lost miniature railway held this weekend at Eastleigh’s Lakeside Steam Railway.
The weekend was a celebration of the Surrey Border & Camberley Railway and the Locomotives of H.C.S.Bullock. The Surrey Border & Camberley Railway ran from Farnborough Green and Camberley for just two years 1938-39.
Eastleigh Parkway became Farnborough Green and Monks Brook Halt became Camberley to set the scene over the two days. Locomotives running were five of HCS Bullock’s famous locomotives, two of them originally from the Surrey Border & Camberley Railway. This included visiting 3007 Firefly (below) from Kerr’s Miniature Railway in Arbroath, Scotland.
All in all it was a great day at this miniature railway, with constant steam action. Check out the railway’s website for more information.
