Rolvenden Loco Yard

Rounding off the series of blog posts looking at the Kent and East Sussex Railway is a look in the loco yard at Rolvenden.  Of particular note was the line’s only tender engine – 376 Norwegian, which has recently returned to service.

Tenterden Terrier

34051 Sir Winston Churchill at Ropley loco yard

At the Watercress Line’s Autumn Steam Spectacular 2012; the National Railway Museum’s Battle of Britain class 34051 Sir Winston Churchill was put on display at Alresford (click here to read more).  Last Sunday; 34051 could be found at the railway again, this time in Ropley loco yard, outside the main works.

Today’s model of the week is a little earlier in the week in usual, in anticipation of the joint locoyard/UK Heritage Hub announcement of the most famous steam locomotive in issue 21 of UK Heritage Hub.  Today we feature the second of three Southern liveried M7 tank engine’s to be found at Locoyard.
