The second locomotive in action at the Swanage Railway was rebuilt West Country Pacific 34028 Eddystone (the other being M7 tank 30053 – click here for more). Here are a few pictures of this large steam engine running on Easter Monday.
News from the Bulleid Society reveals that scenes such as those posted here have taken a step closer to being repeated. The boiler is to be removed from it’s frames and sent to Crewe for overhaul.

At the Watercress Line’s Autumn Steam Spectacular 2012; the National Railway Museum’s Battle of Britain class 34051 Sir Winston Churchill was put on display at Alresford (click here to read more). Last Sunday; 34051 could be found at the railway again, this time in Ropley loco yard, outside the main works.
I am very happy to report that the Watercress Line’s Great Spring Gala truly lived up to its name and then some! Not only was it Great, but it was fantastic!
