Today marks the thirtieth anniversary of the re-opening of the Watercress Line’s Ropley to Medstead and Four Marks station. An excellent article of how this happened can be found on the railway’s website. At the Watercress Line’s Autumn Steam Spectacular 2012; the National Railway Museum’s Battle of Britain class 34051 Sir Winston Churchill was put on display at Alresford (click here to read more). Last Sunday; 34051 could be found at the railway again, this time in Ropley loco yard, outside the main works.
The day after catching the Real Ale Train (click here for more); I had a brief stop in Bowers Grove Lane to watch schools class 925 Cheltenham (above) and 850 Lord Nelson (below) pass.
