The Isle of Wight Steam Railway is holding a volunteer recruitment event on Sunday 23rd March at 10am in the AV Room at Havenstreet.
From my experiences visiting the Isle of Wight Railway the current volunteers are a great bunch of friendly guys so why not go along, have a chat and find out what’s available. Whether you are interested in driving trains, working in the signal box, restoring locomotives, maintaining coaches or even spending a few hours working in the railway shop there will be something for you at the railway. I have personally discovered it doesn’t matter if its a couple of hours or a couple of days a week, you will learn so much and get something in return!
If you have any questions beforehand contact Volunteer Coordinator Alan Gaskin on 01983 529713 or email volunteer@iwsteamrailway.co.uk

Thanks for reading and if you do along we would love to hear your stories as part of our preservation volunteer diaries.
