With the excuse of taking more pictures of Christmas steam (for material for the Locoyard Advent Calendar!) , last Sunday I spent a few hours on the Watercress Line. It was a fairly gloomy day, which really added to the already ample atmosphere of Ropley’s loco yard.
34007 Wadebridge was simmering, whilst U class 31806 and schools class 925 Cheltenham hauled Santa Services.
There’s nothing quite like the smell and the spell of a steam loco yard and it’s always a pleasure to see these slumbering beasts!
850 Lord Nelson is a magnificent machine and now that the preserved GWR King’s are out of action, it can temporarily hold the honour of the most powerful working 4-6-0 in the country!
In the spirit of Christmas, the plan for at Locoyard.com’s is for Christmas day be “decorated” by your winter steam photograph’s. Click here for more details of how your steam photographs can be submitted!
