Sir Lamiel was one of the highlights of the Watercress Line’s Great Spring Steam Gala 2013 line-up (click here for more).
This locomotive was one of four member’s of the National Collection in steam for the event and one of a trio of locomotives painted in malachite green.
Built in 1925 by the North British Railway company; 777 Sir Lamiel is the only survivor of the N15 King Arthur class. The N15 class was at the front line of Southern steam express locomotives for far longer than anticipated and as such are highly regarded as being a very successful type.
777 looks fantastic in malachite green and I would dearly love a model of it in these colours. Hornby, if you are listening; please produce it!
Today we finish with a gallery of photographs of 777, I hope you enjoy looking through them 🙂

Monday 20th May.
Did I see this engine hitching a ride on the M6 ( North) today?
