Further details of this coming Sunday’s “Anything Goes” Gala at the Gwili Railway are now available.
Following on from the announcement last week of the loco allocations for this UK Heritage Hub supported gala (find them here; https://locoyard.com/2013/09/12/gwili-gala-loco-allocations/ ) we are now available to confirm the freight consist, which shall be used throughout the day, this will provide a rare occasion where you can photograph a typical station to station short freight set, which the line played host too many a time prior to closure.
The consist will include;
‘Toad’ brake van 114862, built in 1934 diagram AA 20, currently nearing completion of a 9 month overhaul owned by Swansea Vale Railway Society
Single Bolster 915761 built 1957
National Benzole tanker 2009, built 1952, by Powell Duffryn at Cardiff
Ex planetary oil refinery ‘Toad’ brake van 68465, built 1946 owned by the Caerphilly Railway Society
