It seems hard to believe that the Watercress Autumn Gala was back in October and now we are in December, time seems to go by so quickly! Noticing that there were quite a few unpublished pictures, I thought it best “wrap up” the Gala!
It was an excellent Gala and full credit must be given to the Watercress Line and it’s volunteers for doing such a sterling job, despite the weather conditions.
During these special events, the railway opens up it’s workshops so that you can have a look to see how the various projects are progressing.
First we look at is BR Standard 4MT 2-6-0 76017 (below).
Secondly is another BR Standard 4MT, but this time of the 4-6-0 variety – 75079.
Next is unrebuilt West Country pacific 34105 Swanage.
Finally we have the two S15 class locomotives – Southern number 828 and BR number 30506.
Of course another project underway is the overhaul of Merchant Navy class 35005 Canadian Pacific – catch up on Simon’s report in the Brookes Castle – Volunteer Diary. That’s all for now, but don’t forget to catch tomorrow’s advent calendar blog post and indeed all the others leading up to Christmas, published 6AM every day!
