Following from part 1 (click here to read), part 2 (click here to read), part 3 (click here to read) and part 4 (click here to read) we look at more layout’s that were to be found at Southampton Model Railway Exhibition 2013.
Moonhill Depot – 7mm scale, 0 gauge – Keith Naish, Steve Matanle & John Dedman, New Forest Railway Society
Set sometime between 1985 to 1995, Moonhill Depot is a modern MPD layout running under DCC control.
There is space for 10-12 locomotives at any one time, many with lights and some with DCC Sound.
Children’s Corner – 4mm scale, 00 gauge – Fareham & District MRC
Something of a break from the more serious-minded layouts on display is the hands-on Children’s Corner; composed of Thomas the Tank engine and Friends!
Wansbeck Road – 2mm scale, 9.42mm gauge – Mick Simpson, County Durham
Set circa 1957-1962; Wansbeck is an imaginary County Durham colliery village station. This is an excellent layout that unfortunately my pictures do not give any justice! It’s well worth seeing if you get a chance to.
Spirals Demo!
Just a couple of pictures of one of the model demonstrations – spirals.
