It’s well worth checking out http://www.locoyard.com properly! There is so much here, including over 3600 images, 40 web pages and over 800 blog posts with a variety of topics on heritage and model railways. The blog started life as a model railway diary and to a small extent this remains the case, but it’s much more than that now! Locoyard is a multi- contributor website, continuously supporting campaigns, bringing you information on real and miniature heritage railways.
Details of the model collection are found here and are ever changing. The newest locomotive’s are a BR Standard 4MT 4-6-0 (see above) and the layout’s second diesel (below), both of which will be reviewed in due course. Departed models are also shown at the bottom of the model collection webpage. 00 scale model railway locomotive reviews are also all linked to through the webpages and we are very keen for these to expand.
The heritage railway section includes works from Locoyard’s team. Website founder Dave has his personal heritage railway diary that includes items dating back to the 1990’s such as the newly scanned item below. Official blog posts from UK Heritage Hub link locoyard to a wider organisation with news and campaigns from this rapidly growing ezine. Simon’s (Brookes Castle) has posted various posts that include his very popular volunteer diaries. Our newest member, budding videographer and charity fundraiser Jonathan (1306 Mayflower) has also started making his mark on the site. We have another author waiting too and also check out all the other many valued contributions that others have made to the website – you may well wish to contribute something yourself (if you do please get in touch – it’s free!)
As we move into Spring, there is plenty to look forward to – more model reviews, heritage railway blog posts from a number of different authors and much more! Our pledge is to have something posted here every day, so be sure to add locoyard to your bookmarks!
