Yes, it’s another birthday post – more celebrations! I was treated to something I have always wanted to do – The Puffing Billy Steam Train http://www.puffingbilly.com.au . It’s a Melbourne icon one that has been lucky to stand the test of time over the years as its faced being shut down on several occasions, thanks to the community it is one of the finest preserved railways in the world.

A one hundred year old steam train still chugs along it’s on its original mountain track from Belgrave to Gembrook in the Dandenong Ranges 40kms east of Melbourne. Puffing Billy was built to serve in the early 1900’s and is a genuine replica of our more leisurely days in history.   1. Have done Puffing Billy trip a few times it is a great trip. Especially over the viaduct where you can hang your feet out the windows.
