Me Big End

Tonight we have a poem from retired Engine Driver John Anthony, that is sure to make you chuckle!

Hi Folks, I Hope you like my little poem!
I like bacon when it sizzles,
Coal dust floating on a spade,
Two eggs a-popping,
Boiler juice a-dropping,
Knocks all breakfasts in the shade.

I like hot onion on a steam pipe,
Kerb stone bread with mighty crust,
Never mind the cinders,
Sleeping on yer fingers,
Just let the grease run down yer mush.

I like bacon when it sizzles,
And coal dust floating in the slops,
But now I’m getting thinner,
Riding on me Zimmer,
And me” big end “keeps staring at me socks!

John.
