Views of the Adams Radial Tank

The 0415 Adams Radial Tank has been hitting the headlines in model railway circles rather a lot recently and with two 00 scale models on the horizon, it’s easy to see why.  On locoyard we have looked at the type in quite some depth earlier in the year (click here to read) and also some thoughts on the upcoming models (click here to read.)  Naturally after my last visit to the Bluebell Railway I took the opportunity of taking some pictures of this beautiful machine, that is currently on display in Sheffield Park’s engine shed.

  1. Pre-ordered the oxford one a couple of weeks ago, but in BR black, so looking forward to it arriving, hopefully in a few months’ time. If targets are met, it could beat the Hornby one to the shelves by some time.

    • Hopefully we won’t have to wait too long for either version. Am tempted by a BR black version myself, though would prefer southern railway colours so I may have to be patient!

      • I’m not usually one for BR black, but I’ve got loads of locos in SR green and the version of LSWR livery they are doing I’m not a fan of, much prefer the Drummond livery, but don’t think anyone’s doing that; not even sure if it would be prototypical.
