After a particularly pleasant trip to the Isle of Wight, I had a remarkable and very enjoyable trip on the island’s charismatic, friendly and atmospheric preserved railway. The line is a remnant of a former extensive network of railways that amongst other things has an incredible collection of rolling stock. During our visit, my wife, mother-in-law and I took a night-time ride in a 99 year old carriage. It was a great way to spend the evening and an experience we will never forget.
After this experience (more of which will be written about at a later date, with pictures to accompany it) I found that the steam railway has been nominated under three categories in the myislandofwight.com awards in 2015. For anyone who has enjoyed a visit to this railway, voting for them will help raise their profile – so please support them with votes!
