Following from part 1 (click here to read); part 2 (click here to read) and part 3 (click here to read) we look at three more layout’s that were to be found at Southampton Model Railway Exhibition 2013.
New Hey – 4mm scale, EM gauge – Andy Cooper, Lancashire
New Hey is based on a location at the foot of the Pennines and is set circa 1960-1968. This period allows for excursion trains with regular local passenger, freight and parcel workings.
Ogden Fold – 4mm finescale, S4 gauge – South Hants Model Railway Club
This layout is an interpretation of what the proposed Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway link from Rishworth to New Hay may have looked like. This is a lovely layout with lots of character!
Bodmin – 1/148th scale, N gauge – Ray Slack, Cheshire
This layout replicates Bodmin in the 1930’s with regular passenger and China Clay workings.
DG Couplings actuated by electromagnets allow for automatic uncoupling, SEEP motors control points and signals operated by relays combine to allow operation to happen seamlessly.
More blog posts will be published on other layout’s to be seen at SMRS Exhibition 2013. Click here for Part 5!
