This weekend will see the steam operated Keighley and Worth Valley line invaded by powerful shiny green locomotives from the West Country. The heritage line based in Haworth, home of the Bronte’s is gearing up for its largest steam event of the year. It promises to be bigger and better than ever before with many added attractions. Steam locomotives visiting from the South West of England have already started to arrive at the Railway in readiness for the event.

Rail fans will be treated to a frequent passenger train service alongside a demonstration freight using similar goods wagons to those used to serve the Worth Valleys mills in the 1900’s.

Event organiser Noel Hartley said, ‘This truly will be our event of the year, definitely not to be missed. This event is for all the family with model railways and rugged steam rollers on display. There will even a rare chance to climb aboard to see the controls of our steam engines, chat with the driver and maybe blow the whistle, perfect for those budding train drivers!’

The Autumn Steam Spectacular will be held THIS WEEKEND from the Friday 11th to Sunday 13th October on the five mile Yorkshire line. Full details available at http://www.kwvr.co.uk
