Beamish Museum July 2014

In July 2014, I visited the North east of England, and along with my visit to NELSAM, I visited the Beamish Museum, the living musuem of the North. It is a must visit for enthusiasts of railways, as there is a small demonstration line, as seen in the video. There are also many exhibits around the site, such as a typical mining village, with fantastic fish and chips, a must if you are visiting!

Trams cicle the museum site, and are great to travel from each area. Some are from Blackpool which is great to see many restored trams back in service. Normanly three run a day during the summer, along with a variety of heritage vehicles, such as horse carts and old buses, which really gives off the feel that you have stepped back in time.

It really is a pleasant museum to visit, and with the staff being friendly and exhibits having a hands on approach, it is fun for all of the family. There are plans to extpand the musuem with a 1950s area, which will include trolley buses, and I will make a visit when the project is complete.

Thanks for reading, and watching!
