The above video has been published by Marsh Steam Videos, showing 46100 Royal Scot on her loaded test run on the Severn Valley Railway. This locomotive’s return to service has been highly anticipated and is sure to be a hit at the railway’s Autumn Steam Gala that commences tomorrow. The gala will also be featuring visiting BR Standard class 7MT 70000 Britannia and LMS Ivatt Class 2 Mogul 46521. Full details of the gala can be found on the railway’s website.
This is a rather fittingly grand gala for the railway celebrating it’s Golden Jubilee. All being well, regular locoyard reporter Alex will be at the event, so as ever, watch this space!
On the subject of Severn Railway gala’s, next year’s Autumn event is also shaping up nicely, with no other than world famous no. 60103 Flying Scotsman expected to star over September 22nd-25th 2016. First the Royal Scot in 2015, then the Flying Scotsman in 2016… there seems to be a theme of some sort!
Thanks for reading!
I have provisional to go to next year’s gala too, already looking forward to that with 60103! Just finished planning my weekend, am enjoyable hour with a WTT, an OS map and a highlighter. 🙂

It was lovely to hear “the royal scot”again, I fired her briefly in 1956 from Euston up to Camden loco shed, it was great to hear the three legged beat of her old iron heart, many thankyou,s john Anthony.
