Just a short but sweet blog post tonight! In yesterday’s summary of the Watercress Line’s Spring Steam Gala, one detail I missed was a rather nice model layout that could be found upstairs in the Goods Shed in Alresford. Ropley works are one of preservation’s finest and it comes as no surprise that it has become an inspiration for model railways.
One of the layout’s great features are the works buildings’ clear roofs, allowing for the inside to be modelled accurately and viewed. This was a nice touch for the viewer. I’ll leave you with a few more pictures of the layout…
