Good evening,
Tonight we are looking at some great news coming out of the Gloucestershire Warwickshire Railway where after just a week after the railways president, Pete Waterman, launched a share offer to raise the £1.25m needed to complete the line to Broadway, £251,000 or 20% of the total has already been reached! If share applications continue to reach the railway at this rate, they’ll achieve its target in weeks rather than months. This early success means the railway can finish civil engineering, fencing and drainage works on the embankmentt into Broadway from the present railhead near Little Buckland. They’ll also soon be placing an order with the newly rebranded British Steel at Scunthorpe for rail for the extension. A huge ‘thank you’ to everyone who’s applied already! If you’d like to contribute, more information, including the share offer prospectus can be found here: http://gwsr.com/support/broadway—the-last-mile.aspx.
To celebrate this great I thought it would be a great opportunity to share some of Alex’s great photos from the railway.
